HOW THE FIELD WORKS
Privacy, with the lights on.
A transparent, rule-based educational framework. It shows its assumptions, keeps the user in control, and treats uncertainty as a reason to review—not as proof of danger.
Privacy ≠ security
Privacy controls how information is exposed and used. Security protects accounts and systems from unauthorized access. A strong password can coexist with a very public profile.
Footprint, in context
Active footprint is content you choose to share. Passive footprint can be generated by services depending on their context. This tool evaluates only self-reported practices.
Small clues, big context
Public work, school, interests, travel, family references, or events may make deceptive contact seem more believable. That is a reason for awareness—not a reason to profile anyone.
Scores are explainable
Ten category scores are weighted to 0–100. LOW 0–20, MODERATE 21–40, HIGH 41–70, CRITICAL 71–100. Higher means more assessed exposure.
PRIVACY BY DESIGN
Less data.
More agency.
We designed the assessment to ask whether a detail is visible—not what the detail is. This GitHub Pages build stores nothing; answers and results stay in the current browser tab.
